Guided tours with wine tasting and picnics in the vineyard
In order to expand its offer for wine tourism, Cantina Bignottihas developed three itineraries through its vineyards and olive groves: in this way, you will have the possibility to see where the supply chain starts and could immerse yourself in the nature, by enjoining the territory beauty.
The three routes, with different walking times and difficulties, all end all with a tasting of I Cultivar delle Volte products or with a picnic surrounded by nature.
ITINERARY 1
Difficulty
Required time: Maximum 1.5 hours
Recommended clothing: Anything
Weather conditions: Anything
Participants’ number: No limits
This pathway involves both Cantine Bignotti’s tours. The visit starts from the ancient cellar from the 15thcentury, today used for the bottles’ aging and as an events’ location. Instead, the production, aging and bottling are carried out in the second canteen, from the 1970s.
The tour continues with the visit to the park, which was a property of the lawyer Maffeo Gheza, and ends with the reaching of the Davine’s waterfall: a very evocative view.
ITINERARY 2
Difficulty
Required time: Maximum 2 hours
Recommended clothing: Sport shoes
Weather conditions: Lack of rain
Participants’ number: Maximum 15 people
This second path is an extension of the itinerary n. 1. After the visit to the waterfall, the tour continues witha walk across pathways and mule tracks that are located inside the property and lead to the highest vineyard, placed inside the Fenocolo’sbasin, where the grapes that will become the most prestigious Cultivar Delle Voltewines are grown: the red Impervioand the blanc de blanc Supremo.
On the wayback, visitors have the possibility to see the Hospedal olive grove, called in this way because here, a long time ago, was located a lazaret. We then return to the historic wine cellar for a tasting or picnic.
ITINERARY 3
Difficulty
Required time: Maximum 2.5 hours
Recommended clothing: Trekking shoes
Weather conditions: Lack of rain
Participants’ number: Maximum 5 people
This itinerary is surely the hardest but also the most fascinating. After the Davine’s waterfall visit, the participants walk along its course, passing through pathways carved into the rock, that will make it possible to enjoy a breath-taking panorama. On the way, several panoramic terraces can be found, that were commissioned at the beginning of the 20th century from the lawyer Maffeo Gheza, eclectic man with a strong personality. One of these, the so called “belvedere moresco” is now focus of remarkable art critics’ studies, according to which, the panorama that is possible to admire from up there, could have inspired Leonardo Da Vinci in the painting of one of its most famous work of art La Gioconda. From that location, it is possible to admire the Iseo Lake and the Trenta PassiCorno, that is thought to be the background of the above-mentioned painting. The tour continues with the vineyards’ and olive groves’visit and ends again in the historical winery.
